Quick answers about how we work, what’s included, and what you’re responsible for as an author client.
How does the process work from first contact to launch? +
You start by filling in the project request form on the main site. We review your details, ask any follow-up questions, and send a written proposal outlining scope, timeline, and price. Once you approve and pay the deposit, we book your project into the schedule, collect content and assets, then design and build your site in stages. You get revision rounds to refine things before final approval and launch.
What do I need to provide before you start? +
At minimum, we need your author bio, book information (titles, blurbs, covers), any existing branding (logos, fonts, colours), and the links you want to feature (retailers, newsletter, social media, etc.). If you don’t have all of this yet, we can still start with a pre-launch site and update as your releases go live.
Who pays for hosting and domains? +
You do. We can advise where to register your domain (for example, Namecheap or Cloudflare) and help connect it to the site, but the registration, renewal and billing all stay in your name. Hosting is usually set up on Netlify or a similar modern host—either under our account for you, or under your own account if you prefer. Hosting and domain fees are separate from our design and build prices.
Can I update my own site later? +
Yes. We aim to build sites that you can update without touching code for basic things like changing text, swapping a cover, or adding a new buy link. For more complex changes, you can either use one of our maintenance memberships or request a scoped update at our hourly/project rate.
Do you handle SEO and marketing? +
Each package includes basic on-page SEO such as titles, meta descriptions, and clean structure that’s friendly to search engines. We don’t run ads or full marketing campaigns, but we do design with conversion in mind—making it easy for visitors to understand who you are, what you write, and what to click next.
How do payments and refunds work? +
Projects usually require a 50% deposit to reserve your slot and 50% on completion before launch. Deposits are non-refundable once work has started because time has been scheduled and design work begun. If something changes, we’ll always talk with you about options, but we don’t promise refunds on completed work.
